Private Giving & Funding

How you can directly support our athletes and support the international success of GBFreeski

The success of our young athletes depends upon the support of family, friends, our team partners, and private contributions to provide the world class training, coaching and development programmes needed in the early days of entering the sport.

Private fundraising and giving is an invaluable and direct support for athletes.

GBFreeski has paired up with the Skiers Trust to provide a dedicated Freeski trust fund through which you can target funding direct to freeski athletes, provide for coaches or across the team to programmes, facilities or development goals that you help choose.

All donations above £25 will automatically include membership of the Skiers Trust, with invitations to Trust events such as the House of Lords Reception.

GBFreeski direct funding

Working with the Skiers Trust, we are able to offer you special arrangements to target funding to specific coaching programmes, equipment provision and development goals, taking advantage of the trust’s charitable status with funding bespoke to your interests and preferences.

To benefit from gift aid all donations must be made out of donors taxed income so that the trust as a charity can claim 25% tax refund from the revenue. Companies donating to a bespoke fund usually do so from their charity budget and therefore account for donations before tax. This means that companies find it easier to donate to charities rather than sponsoring individuals.

Beneficiaries must fall within the objectives of the trust which will in the future include amateur sport

To enable the Skiers Trust to reclaim tax paid on the donation from the Inland Revenue all donors need to sign a Gift Aid form confirming that the donation is made out of their taxed income.

Each bespoke fund contributes a 7% levy to the Skiers Trust general fund to assist in making further grants to less fortunate individuals. This levy is applied to all donations received and to all tax recovered.

Athlete Sponsorship

To sponsor an athlete there are options for both regular giving and a one off donation, and if you are UK taxpayer please consider using Gift Aid to add to your donation at no cost to yourself.

You can download a copy of the Skiers Trust form here. Then print out and complete the form and return it with your donation. Don’t forget to specify the freeski athlete or programme you wish to target your funding towards. We look forward to welcoming you.

Or if you prefer to make a donation by personal cheque, CAF cheque or Gift Aid, please contact us at GBFreeski.
